AGG Starts Off Strong in 2024 by Adding New Partners

Atlanta, February 14, 2024 – In early 2024, Arnall Golden Gregory LLP (AGG) continued its growth from the prior year by adding partners Paula M. Nagarajan and Allison E. Raley in Atlanta.

Allison is a partner and member of the firm’s Payments Systems & Fintech team and Paula is a partner in the Technology and Corporate & Finance practices.

“As evidenced by our successful recruiting efforts over the past 12 months, we continue to be sought after by attorneys who see AGG as the right firm to take their career to the next level,” said Sean P. Fogarty, AGG’s managing partner. “It is gratifying to observe our message of self-determination in growing your practice on your terms resonate throughout the marketplace, particularly among candidates from larger platforms.”

Since joining the firm, Paula and Allison have become part of a group that is working to launch a Women in Technology affinity group due to the number of women attorneys at the firm who work in or around technology. Members of this group represent domestic and international clients in digital transformations, enterprise-wide technology solutions, data privacy compliance, cyberbreach response, and digital health.

“We are thrilled to welcome Paula and Allison to a talented tech-facing group that has continued to grow over the past several years,” said Jacqueline W. Cooney, AGG Privacy & Cybersecurity co-chair. “As we began to assess the capabilities in the firm and the attorneys serving clients in this space, we quickly realized we had something special, and the idea for the affinity group was born.”

“Now more than ever, our clients need experienced counsel to assist with digital transformation initiatives that require enterprise-wide technology solutions,” said Lori L. Brewer, AGG Technology practice chair. “The combined experience of this group positions us well to provide clients with a full scope of tech-related counsel that is available all under AGG’s platform.”

Paula’s corporate transactional practice has particular emphasis in the technology industry, where she regularly assists technology and venture capital clients in financings, complex M&A transactions, and corporate governance matters. She has guided emerging growth company clients from formation through product commercialization, financings, and exits. She has assisted venture capital clients in more than 100 preferred equity financings and portfolio company sales. She represents domestic and foreign companies, boards of directors, venture capital firms, emerging growth companies, and private equity firms. Paula earned her law degree from Emory University School of Law and her undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University.

Allison’s work focuses on both traditional and emerging technologies at rapid-growth and public companies, primarily in finance and securities. As a former global tech general counsel and chief compliance officer, she is one of very few blockchain attorneys to have held executive level positions in-house and returned to private practice. She brings this deep knowledge to her clients in digital assets, fintech, payments, banking, securities, and financial services. Allison’s experience in SEC, NYDFS, OFAC, and DOJ defense and complex regulatory compliance advisement — both in-house and as external counsel — allows her to work closely with cross-departmental leads and achieve the best possible result for her clients. Allison earned her law degree from Baylor University School of Law and has gone on to become a certified anti-money laundering specialist, certified global sanctions specialist, and certified regulatory compliance manager.
