Biography

Matthew is an associate in the Real Estate practice.

Matthew focuses his practice on general real estate law, including the acquisition, development, leasing, and disposition of shopping centers, malls, restaurants, mixed-use developments, and other commercial real estate. He resolves complex real estate matters through traditional negotiation and alternative dispute resolution methods using his mediation training and certification. Previously, he served as a summer associate for AGG.

While earning his J.D. at the University of Georgia School of Law, Matthew served as an extern clerk for Chief Judge Batten of the Northern District of Georgia, an extern clerk for Judge Hodges of the Georgia Court of Appeals, and a legal extern at The Coca-Cola Company. He also became a certified mediator and conducted dozens of mediations at the Athens-Clarke County Magistrate Court. Matthew was actively engaged in his law school community, serving as senior managing editor for the Georgia Law Review and as an executive board member of the Transactional Club.

Prior to attending law school, Matthew earned his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Notre Dame. He served as a teaching assistant in psychology and the Service Chair for the Psychology Club and participated in the Notre Dame Swim Club. Matthew previously worked as a trial consultant where he assisted in the selection of juries and refined trial strategies through mock trials across the country.

Outside of work, Matthew enjoys playing piano and guitar, coaching a baseball team for children with special needs, and traveling.
