AGG Boosts Litigation, Environmental, and Economic Development Teams With Addition of Rebecca Davis in Atlanta

Atlanta, July 6, 2023 – Arnall Golden Gregory (AGG) is pleased to announce the addition of Rebecca A. Davis as a partner in Atlanta. Rebecca brings more than 20 years of environmental consulting, counseling, and litigation experience to the firm’s Environmental and Litigation & Dispute Resolution practice groups. She is also a member of the firm’s Economic Development & Public Finance industry team.

“Rebecca is a highly accomplished litigator with an established reputation that aligns with our track record for excellent service to our clients,” said Megan P. Mitchell, AGG partner and co-chair of the Litigation & Dispute Resolution practice. “As we continue to grow strategically for our clients in such a competitive market for legal talent, we are thrilled to welcome Rebecca to our team.”

“Rebecca is known for securing successful outcomes on behalf of her clients in complex economic development matters,” said Andrew J. Schutt, AGG partner and chair of the Economic Development & Public Finance team. “Her experience in environmental litigation coupled with her background involving large economic development projects makes her a valuable addition to our team and clients.”

Rebecca represents clients in a range of matters with a focus on environmental law, including regulatory compliance, remediation, permitting, due diligence, brownfields, and alternate energy projects, as well as in complex environmental litigation and enforcement cases. She is experienced counseling clients in connection with the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (“CERCLA”), Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (“RCRA”) liability, storm water violations, toxic mold, lead-based paint violations, and property diminution claims brought in state and federal courts.

Within the regulatory arena, Rebecca counsels her clients on environmental, social, and governance (“ESG”)-related matters and associated risks, which enables them to understand the changing landscape and help shape their ESG initiatives.

Rebecca’s diverse practice also includes representing businesses in state and federal courts in class action lawsuits, construction cases, complex commercial disputes, high-volume e-discovery cases, real estate, and mass tort cases. She also represents government authorities and private companies in major economic development projects, the redevelopment and financing of contaminated properties, and in acquiring contaminated properties to be redeveloped.

An active leader in her practice, Rebecca has been named to the “Legal Elite” for Environmental Law by Georgia Trend Magazine in 2019 and 2020 and BTI Consulting’s Client Service All Stars for 2022 and 2023. She serves on the board for the Atlanta International Arbitration Society and is the former co-chair of the Global Arbitration Review’s 2022 conference hosted in Atlanta. Rebecca is also active in a number of organizations, including the Georgia Association of Environmental Professionals, Georgia Brownfield Association, Georgia Economic Development Association, International Bar Association, and the State Bar of Georgia.

Rebecca earned her law degree from the Georgia State University College of Law, a master’s degree in microbiology from Idaho State University, and her undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia.
