AGG and Four IP Partners Earn Recognition in 2023 WTR 1000

Atlanta, February 13, 2023 – Arnall Golden Gregory (AGG) is pleased to announce the firm’s Intellectual Property practice has been recognized by World Trademark Review’s 2023 WTR 1000 for the fourth year. Additionally, AGG IP partners J. Tucker Barr and Anuj Desai have once again earned recognition as leading trademark practitioners, and IP partners Stephen M. Dorvee and Matthew V. Wilson made their debut in the 2023 guide.

Tucker Barr is a partner and co-chair of the firm’s IP practice and Entertainment & Sports team. WTR has described him as “an ace advocate who takes litigation learnings and applies them in prosecution practice to superb effect.” Tucker works with clients to identify, clear, and register their trademarks. In addition to providing traditional trademark clearance, prosecution, and portfolio maintenance services, he provides strategic advice to help clients overcome trademark conflicts through brand transitions, consent agreements and licenses, and trademark purchases and assignments.

Anuj Desai is a partner in AGG’s IP practice and head of Trademarks. WTR notes that he “offers patrons with contentious matters and difficult transactions a depth of experience which comes from managing thousands of trademarks around the world.” As an IP lawyer with a hybrid practice encompassing transactional matters and litigation, Anuj’s clients trust him to manage, safeguard, and resolve disputes involving a variety of creative assets.

Steve Dorvee is a partner and founder of the firm’s IP Litigation practice and co-chairs the Global Commerce industry team. Throughout his career, Steve has helped software, hardware, medical products, and other high-tech companies protect and leverage their inventions and brands. His practice focuses on trade secret disputes, copyright, trademark, and patent infringement cases, cases involving restrictive covenants, and unfair competition matters throughout the U.S.

Matt is a partner in AGG’s Corporate and IP practices and co-chair of the Entertainment & Sports industry team. He advises his clients on legal matters related to entertainment, technology, new media, and advertising. With more than two decades of experience representing recording artists, songwriters, publishers, producers, business teams, labels, distributors, and concert promoters, his clients value him as a trusted adviser on copyright, licensing, and other intellectual property matters and as a vital counselor in connection with their career paths.

Regarding the firm’s IP practice, WTR states AGG “prides itself on serving its clients efficiently and cost effectively relative to peers, without compromising on quality” and “[punches] well above its weight in enforcement matters and global portfolio management.”

Across a four-month period, WTR’s team of analysts scrutinized the legal services market, conducting more than 1,700 telephone interviews with brand specialists, to present more than 80 country- and U.S. state-specific chapters profiling the firms and individuals identified as leaders in their respective fields. Now in its 13th year, the WTR 1000 has established itself as the definitive tool for those seeking stellar trademark legal skill and partners worldwide.
