Biography
Eric is a partner in the Real Estate practice group and a member of the Healthcare Real Estate industry team, where he advises long-term care and senior housing providers, hospitals, and other healthcare organizations on a wide range of transactional, regulatory, and corporate matters.
Eric represents owners, operators, managers, investors, and lenders in the purchase, sale, lease, and financing of nursing facilities, assisted living facilities, independent living facilities, hospitals, home health and hospice agencies, and multifamily properties. He guides clients through all phases of a transaction — from the negotiation of letters of intent and drafting definitive agreements to addressing regulatory compliance, licensure, Medicare and Medicaid provider enrollment, and post-closing transition issues.
Over the course of his career, Eric has handled transactions valued at more than one billion dollars. He has structured and closed complex healthcare real estate transactions and has counseled borrowers and lenders in HUD-insured financing transactions. His transaction experience spans for-profit and nonprofit multi-state portfolios, as well as single-site operations, giving him a comprehensive perspective across the healthcare real estate landscape.
In addition to his transactional work, Eric has advised clients regarding healthcare and nonprofit compliance issues. Eric also has significant experience in commercial contracting. He has led a team of attorneys in the review and negotiation of a wide range of vendor contracts for one of the nation’s largest hospital systems and has developed template agreements and practice resources for healthcare-focused real estate investment trusts and internal legal teams to enhance efficiency and streamline deal execution.
Before joining AGG, Eric practiced at both an Am Law 100 firm and a boutique healthcare law firm, where he advised clients on acquisitions, divestitures, financings, corporate matters, and regulatory compliance across the healthcare industry.
Drawing on his combined real estate, corporate, and healthcare regulatory experience, healthcare organizations and senior living providers rely on Eric for practical, business-minded solutions that drive transactions forward in a complex and highly regulated market.
