Biography

Ali is of counsel in the Corporate & Finance and Technology practices and a member of the Payments Systems & Fintech industry team.

Ali focuses her practice on negotiating complex tech and payment systems transactions. She represents clients in industries related to technology, services, and payment processing in a wide range of corporate transactional matters, including technology licensing, SaaS, strategic transactions, commercial contract negotiation, corporate governance, and mergers & acquisitions.

Prior to joining AGG, Ali served as chief counsel for a global financial technology company, advising the payment processing business with respect to all aspects of its legal needs. She is deeply experienced in handling merchant agreements, vendor relationships/procurement, complex partnering relationships, sponsor bank issues, ISO/agent agreements, card brand matters, and regulatory issues. Additionally, Ali served as corporate counsel for a market leader in the travel industry, overseeing domestic and international mergers & acquisitions and other investment transactions. She also managed a wide variety of corporate and commercial legal matters involving the drafting and negotiating of agreements for the provision of services and technology licensing, as well as privacy, anti-corruption, sanctions, and other compliance issues.

Leveraging her combined in-house and law firm experience, Ali strategically collaborates with senior business leaders to proactively develop plans to address significant areas of risk across a spectrum of key relationships.

Ali holds the Certified Information Privacy Professional/United States (“CIPP/US”) accreditation from the International Association of Privacy Professionals (“IAPP”). The CIPP/US is the global industry standard for professionals in the field of privacy, demonstrating a mastery of data privacy laws and practices, including jurisdictional laws, regulations and enforcement models, and legal requirements for handling and transferring data.
