John Bennett’s Addition to AGG Featured in Law360

John Bennett, a partner in AGG’s Litigation & Dispute Resolution and Employment practices, discussed his recent move to the firm in a Law360 article. John shared that AGG’s full-service platform and strong reputation made it the right fit to better serve his clients.

“I’ve always viewed the firm as really just having a great reputation — a certain amount of cachet, I would say, especially in the Southeast, but across the country,” he said. “I wanted to be able to better serve my clients from a full-service perspective.”

A University of Georgia School of Law graduate, John also highlighted AGG’s strengths in commercial real estate, real estate-related litigation, and affordable housing matters. Reflecting on his litigation career, he noted that courtroom advocacy has become increasingly important as summary judgment has become more difficult to obtain in employment disputes.

“The landscape has changed,” John said. “It’s harder to get summary judgment now, not only here, but in places across the country, so clients can’t only have lawyers who are good with the pen. You’ve got to be able to have some oral advocacy skills, and you’ve got to be willing to try a case.”
