Jeff Lewis and Matt Wilson Appointed to TCSG Sound Economy Task Force

Atlanta, February 20, 2023 – Arnall Golden Gregory (AGG) is pleased to announce Jeffrey Y. Lewis, AGG Litigation partner and member of the Entertainment & Sports industry team, and Matthew V. Wilson, partner in the Corporate and Intellectual Property practices and co-leader of the Entertainment & Sports industry team, have been named to the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) Sound Economy Task Force. As Georgia has invested in establishing a robust economy in film, music, and digital entertainment, and industry and state leadership look to grow to the next level, they have recognized that the area of sound presents a tremendous opportunity.

Governor Brian Kemp appointed TCSG to research the workforce shortage in audio production related to film, music, and gaming and provide recommendations to address it. As the first step in its exploration, TCSG assembled a task force dedicated to determining how it can establish programs within its current curriculum to train aspiring audio professionals. This task force will play an integral role in developing solutions to build a well-trained workforce in audio engineering, preventing this work from leaving the state and bringing in more revenue.

Together with the task force, Jeff and Matt will gather data to define the shortage, quantify what the shortage means in losses to Georgia’s economy, and identify ways to fix the shortage and make concrete recommendations on needed monetary and human resources, as well as anticipated timelines. Task force members each bring unique experiences that will foster ideas toward further defining and solving the problem. The task force will collectively provide recommendations to the Governor’s Commission on Film, Music, and Digital Entertainment for inclusion in its report to the governor.

Jeff Lewis uses his proven dispute resolution devices to help large and small companies, as well as individuals. For nearly four decades, Jeff has defended clients through litigation, mediation, and arbitration in the U.S. and abroad. Jeff also serves on the Georgia Governor’s Film, Music, and Digital Entertainment Commission. He was a professional actor from 1985 to 1992 and is a member of the Screen Actors Guild and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists.

Matt Wilson advises his clients on legal matters related to entertainment, technology, new media, and advertising. He is a trusted ally and strategic counselor on business and personal matters as they relate to the very visible career paths of his clients. In addition to his role on the task force, he serves as a board member of Backline, Inc.; legal advisor to Georgia Music Foundation; and vice chair of the Music and Personal Appearance Committee of the American Bar Association’s Sports and Entertainment Forum.
