Biography
Andy is of counsel in the Private Wealth practice. He advises individuals, families, fiduciaries, family offices, and financial institutions on preserving, managing, and transferring wealth through sophisticated estate planning, trust and estate administration, and tax-efficient strategies. Drawing on more than a decade of experience in private practice and senior trust advisory roles, Andy offers clients a distinctive perspective shaped by both designing estate plans and administering complex trusts and estates.
Before joining AGG, Andy served in senior trust advisory roles with a leading financial institution, where he administered estates valued at over $100 million and managed more than 600 complex trust and estate relationships across multiple jurisdictions. He advised fiduciaries, beneficiaries, and families on trust administration, fiduciary responsibilities, estate settlement, and sophisticated wealth transfer strategies while helping identify and resolve complex fiduciary and tax issues. This combination of legal and institutional fiduciary experience gives Andy firsthand insight into how estate plans operate in practice and allows him to develop tailored solutions for clients and their advisors.
Andy counsels clients throughout the estate planning and administration process, advising on trust administration, fiduciary risk management, succession planning, and wealth transfer strategies. He regularly advises on irrevocable and testamentary trusts, fiduciary compliance, estate settlement, and multigenerational wealth planning. Working closely with clients’ financial, tax, and business advisors, Andy helps implement effective strategies that preserve family wealth while minimizing administrative complexity and fiduciary risk.
Clients value Andy’s experienced perspective and ability to translate complex fiduciary and estate planning issues into clear, actionable guidance. Because he has personally administered significant trusts and estates, he understands how planning decisions affect families and fiduciaries long after estate documents are signed. His firsthand experience enables him to develop strategies that are both technically sophisticated, practical to administer, and aligned with each client’s long-term objectives.
He earned his Juris Doctor from the West Virginia University College of Law and his Executive Master of Business Administration from the West Virginia University College of Business and Economics. Andy is an active member of several estate planning councils, including those serving Atlanta, North Georgia, North Central West Virginia, and the Upper Ohio Valley.
