Kevin Coy Discusses AI Hiring Liability and Governance on Cisive Podcast

AGG Privacy & Cybersecurity chair Kevin Coy joined Cisive’s “Don’t Get Played” podcast to discuss the growing legal and compliance risks tied to artificial intelligence (“AI”) in hiring and workforce management.

During the conversation, Kevin examined how employers are using AI tools in recruiting, background screening, and employment decision-making, as well as the increasing scrutiny these technologies face from regulators and lawmakers. He also addressed governance considerations companies should evaluate before implementing AI-driven hiring systems, including bias testing, transparency, vendor oversight, and documentation practices.

Kevin emphasized that employers should not view AI compliance as solely a technology issue. Instead, organizations should coordinate legal, HR, compliance, and operational teams to reduce exposure and establish defensible processes.
