Jason Bring Discusses AI Tools and Medicare Claims Compliance at McKnight’s Tech Awards Summit

AGG Post-Acute & Long-Term Care co-chair Jason Bring discussed artificial intelligence (“AI”) and Medicare claims compliance during a panel at the McKnight’s Tech Awards Summit, as reported by McKnight’s Home Care.

Home care and other post-acute care providers face substantial financial and operational consequences when documentation deficiencies result in Medicare claims denials, audits, payment suspensions, or revocations. Errors as simple as missing dates or signatures can expose otherwise legitimate claims to review.

Jason recommended using AI-supported tools to identify deficiencies before claims are submitted, giving staff an opportunity to correct records and reduce preventable denials. He emphasized the need for providers across post-acute care to prepare for close compliance scrutiny.

“This has evolved from a hospice fraud crackdown into really a post-acute compliance reckoning, and so really everyone in this space needs to be aware of that shift and prepare for it if you haven’t already,” Jason said.
