Arnall Golden Gregory Continues to Grow its D.C. Office with the Recent Addition of Former Assistant U.S. Attorney John P. Rowley

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Former Assistant U.S. Attorney and Branch Chief for the Eastern District of Virginia (Alexandria Division), John P. Rowley, recently joined Arnall Golden Gregory’s Washington, D.C. office as a partner. John is a member of the firm’s Government Investigations and White-Collar Crime practices. He is the fifth experienced lateral attorney to join the D.C. office this year, which continues to expand the firm’s complex litigation and white-collar defense and investigations capabilities.

“John adds to the roster of seasoned attorneys who have joined our D.C. office this year, including three former SEC enforcement lawyers. His experience will further bolster our D.C.-based investigations and white-collar defense practices,” says Mike Burke, Arnall Golden Gregory’s D.C. office administrative partner.

Rowley has extensive experience in Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) investigations, representing individuals and multi-nationals that trade their securities on the U.S. Stock Exchanges and are subject to the jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of Justice and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. His civil litigation practice includes defending clients in False Claims Act cases and in commercial disputes with private litigants and the federal government.

“AGG’s growing platform is a perfect complement to my practice and the clients I serve. I’m looking forward to teaming with the high-quality attorneys here as we provide first-class legal services to clients in a wide range of civil litigation and white-collar defense matters,” added Rowley.

Rowley earned his J.D. from the University of Richmond School of Law, and received his M.B.A. from the University of Notre Dame. Prior to working in private practice, he held two additional leadership positions in government: Chief Counsel to the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, and Staff Director for the U.S. Department of Defense panel created to investigate allegations of misconduct at the U.S. Air Force Academy. In the latter position, he played a key role in the panel’s work and recommendations to the Secretary of Defense and the House and Senate Armed Services Committees.
