AGG’s Growing Healthcare Litigation Practice Highlighted in Legal Media

Following the addition of AGG Healthcare Litigation partners Rich Collins and Damon Eisenbrey to the firm’s growing Healthcare Litigation practice and Washington, D.C. office, announced September 19, 2022, the attorneys were featured in the Daily Report and Law360 along with fellow AGG Healthcare Litigation partner Matt Lavin, who joined the practice in 2021.

In conversation with the Daily Report, the attorneys highlighted the growing need for effective counsel in healthcare disputes, with Damon explaining that the under-reimbursement of healthcare providers is making it more difficult for patients to get life-saving treatment.

“They’re left with a bigger bill for their mental health and their substance abuse disorder treatments,” Damon said.

“Whenever we see high concentrations of loss, you see insurance companies scrambling to try and limit the amount they’re going to pay out,” Rich added. “I think we’re going to see this trend increasing.”

Looking ahead to future plans for the Healthcare Litigation practice, Matt said, “This is the beginning of our growth, and we’re really looking forward to the next couple of years, helping our clients address the changing landscape of healthcare in America.”

Adding to those comments, Matt also told Law360, “What we were looking to do was build one of the largest provider-side healthcare reimbursement practices in the country, tackling the biggest issues out there. I came over here a year ago, and with the addition of Rich and Damon, we’re excited about our ability to tackle big issues for clients located nationwide.”

Rich and Damon relocated from California to join AGG’s Washington, D.C. office.

“I’m really excited to be here in D.C.,” Damon told Law360. “This is where the regulators are, where our representatives are putting forth initiatives that have a direct impact on healthcare in the United States, the insurance industry, and providers. This is an exciting and dynamic town to be in, especially in this day and age and if you couple that with our litigation practice, it makes for a great time.”
