Sherman A. Cohen is a partner in the Corporate and Securities Practice and the Private Equity and Venture Capital Practice. He serves as practice leader of the Corporate and Securities Practice and has served recently on the firm’s Executive Committee.  Mr. Cohen has more than 25 years’ experience practicing law and frequently lectures on venture capital financing and choice of legal entity issues. Mr. Cohen has served as an expert witness on cases involving issues of corporate law.

Mr. Cohen focuses his practice on transactional matters, including public and private company mergers and acquisitions, equity and debt financings and joint ventures as well as corporate governance matters. Mr. Cohen’s clients include publicly held and private companies in the technology, healthcare, specialty finance and restaurant industries. Within the healthcare space, Mr. Cohen has extensive experience representing healthcare information technology companies and investors in such companies.

In 2005, Mr. Cohen accompanied former Georgia Governor Sonny Perdue as a delegate on the Georgia Technology and Trade Mission to Israel, where delegates participated in business and diplomatic meetings, including a meeting with former Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, to further cement the strong relationship between the state of Georgia and Israel.
