Megan Poitevint Mitchell is a partner in the Litigation Practice. 

Ms. Mitchell focuses her practice on business and commercial litigation matters, including defending against claims made under consumer protection statutes such as the Fair Credit Reporting Act. As a business litigator, Ms. Mitchell has second-chaired two successful jury trials. Ms. Mitchell also has significant experience handling employment disputes, and she frequently advises employers on discrimination claims, wage and hour issues, executive compensation and post-employment competition disputes.

During law school at the University of Virginia, Ms. Mitchell clerked for the Central Virginia Legal Aid Society and was a summer associate with Arnall Golden Gregory. She also served as an editor of the Virginia Journal of Social Policy and the Law and was actively involved in several pro bono projects. As a student at the University of Georgia, Ms. Mitchell worked for the UGA Sports Communications Department (she’s an avid sports fan). Ms. Mitchell holds undergraduate degrees in political science and public relations.

A native of Dahlonega, Georgia, Ms. Mitchell lives in Smyrna with her husband, Rick.
