Biography
Kathryn is an associate in the Healthcare practice group and a member of the Life Sciences industry team. She focuses her practice on healthcare litigation, reimbursement disputes, False Claims Act (“FCA”) matters, government investigations, and regulatory compliance issues affecting healthcare providers and organizations.
Healthcare organizations frequently face overlapping regulatory, compliance, and litigation concerns that require both strategic judgment and practical understanding of government enforcement priorities. Kathryn regularly assists clients with internal investigations, responding to state and federal enforcement actions, both civil and criminal, and in evaluating issues arising under the FCA, Anti-Kickback Statute, HIPAA, and other healthcare laws and regulations. This knowledge allows her to help clients understand regulatory expectations, assess potential exposure, and develop effective strategies for resolving disputes and mitigating risk.
Prior to joining the firm, Kathryn served as a trial attorney in the U.S. Department of Justice (“DOJ”) Criminal Division through the DOJ Honors Program, where she prosecuted criminal matters on behalf of the United States. Before law school, Kathryn worked as an intelligence analyst within the United States Intelligence Community. Her experience at the DOJ and beyond informs her ability to approach legal and compliance challenges from both a government and private-sector perspective. Kathryn also served as a law clerk for the Honorable Madeline H. Haikala and the Honorable Gray Borden in the Northern District of Alabama. Through this work, Kathryn gained an exceptional legal writing foundation, which she draws from as she assists clients navigating litigation matters.
