Biography
Dorothea is an associate in the Global Mobility practice. She focuses her practice on matters related to business immigration and international business transactions. Dorothea has a deep understanding of corporate structures and their interplay with the immigration process.
Fluent in German and Romanian, Dorothea is experienced in advising foreign-owned business entities and individuals investing in the U.S. She counsels clients in a wide range of industries on immigration and non-immigration visa issues, as well as establishing their U.S. entities. Prior to practicing law in the U.S., she practiced at a firm in Germany, advising physicians on M&A issues and representing clients involved in civil lawsuits and employment disputes.
Dorothea completed her German law studies at the University of Regensburg School of Law, where she passed the first German bar examination and earned her J.D. equivalent. She passed the second German bar examination through the Higher Regional Court of Nürnberg and was admitted to practice in Germany. She also received her Master of Law degree from Emory University School of Law and is a member of the State Bar of Georgia.
Previously, Dorothea volunteered with Amnesty International, where she provided legal services with a focus on right of asylum. Dorothea is also the chair of the Atlanta-Nuremberg Sister Cities Commission. The City of Atlanta fosters 17 sister-city relationships with communities across the globe. The Atlanta Sister Cities Commission has continued to expand its programming by promoting mutually beneficial cultural, educational, economic, and community development exchanges.
