Nearly 500 workers were detained, emphasizing the administration’s zero-tolerance approach to unauthorized employment — even in cases where foreign nationals may enter the U.S. under seemingly permissible business visa programs. Teri stressed the incident is a warning for companies sending workers to the U.S. that they should have proper documentation lined up.
“Employers must be diligent to ensure that foreign nationals traveling to the U.S comply with all immigration laws and secure proper work visas when required,” Teri said.
