Bill Dombi Quoted in McKnight’s Home Care on the 2026 Home Health Final Rule
Bill Dombi, senior counsel in AGG’s Healthcare practice and a member of the Post-Acute & Long-Term Care industry team, was quoted in a McKnight’s Home Care article discussing how the 2026 home health final rule could substantially benefit home health financially.
“Instead of the glass half full, it’s maybe three quarters full, but a lot of work still to be done,” said Bill during a McKnight’s Home Care webinar on the final rule. “$1.1 billion of cuts turns into $220 million of cuts. There’s no way not to see that as a positive on a relative basis.”
Bill also provided insight on CMS indicating that it may cap its home health payment analysis at 2022 data because recent years have been muddled. “I think the permanent adjustments are near over, if not over at this point,” he said.
Additionally, Bill shared that AI could help CMS target oversight more precisely, as well as help providers reduce documentation burdens. “We’re at an intelligence level where they shouldn’t use shotguns anymore to maintain program integrity,” he said. “They can be very precise and very selective.”
