Bill Dombi Discusses the Future of Medicaid in Home Health Care News Article
Bill Dombi, senior counsel in AGG’s Healthcare practice and a member of the Post-Acute & Long-Term Care industry team, was quoted in a Home Health Care News article discussing what’s in store for Medicaid under the current presidential administration.
While some in the industry believe funding for home-based care providers will not be cut, Bill explained that any reduction in the federal government’s Medicaid contributions to states will have consequences, and even politically unlikely scenarios have to be contemplated.
“Any diminution of the federal share will have impact,” Bill said. “If you take support away from the hospitals and the nursing facilities, the balloon is going to be affected somewhere else in the Medicaid balloon.”
As some healthcare providers recalibrate their plans with the looming threat of cuts, it is likely that changes to Medicaid funding are coming.
“I don’t think anybody is forecasting that there will be no damage to Medicaid in 2025.”
