Bill Dombi Discusses Proposed Rule to Cut Home Health Payments in McKnight’s Home Care

Bill Dombi, AGG Healthcare senior counsel, was quoted in an article published in McKnight’s Home Care discussing the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ proposed regulations to cut payments to home health agencies by 6.4%

In the wake of the announcement, Bill offered insight into how providers can assess the effect these changes will have on patients and the company as a result.

“There are two things that are always necessary for individual providers to check,” Bill explained. “One of them is the area wage index, where there’s always ups and downs . . . the other thing worthy of checking is the case mix weights. It’s crucial for providers to take a look at what their patient census is all about to determine whether or not the recalibration could have a negative or a positive impact on them.”
