Beth Moore Discusses Georgia Entertainment Incentive Update in Bloomberg Tax

In an article published by Bloomberg Tax on March 12, 2024, AGG Entertainment & Sports co-chair Beth Moore shared insight on Georgia’s HB 1180, which would restrict taxpayers’ ability to carry unused tax credits, including film incentives, forward to future years.

“The other big portion of that bill is tagging the transferability of the tax credits to a percentage of the governor’s projected budget; and I think that’s where a lot more of the contention is occurring, but I understand why the legislators are trying to prevent the budget from being blown on tax credits,” Beth said.

The bill’s 2.5% cap on transfers was determined as a “reasonable compromise” to address concerns from opponents of film tax credits, she added.
