ATLANTA – AGG earned notable rankings in Mergermarket’s (an M&A intelligence service company) first-ever individual league tables for M&A lawyers. The rankings show that AGG, as a midsize, U.S.-based law firm, can compete among the largest global firms, and its attorneys close as many (or more) successful transactions each year.
AGG partner Jeff R. Friedman ranked fifth in the world on Mergermarket’s Global league table for closed transactions and tied for first by deal count on the U.S. league table with 31 deals and a disclosed value of $141 million. AGG partner Matthew M. Brohm ranked twelfth in the world on the Global league table for closed transactions and sixth on the U.S. league table with 25 deals and a disclosed value of $98 million.
“Jeff and Matt are incredible attorneys. Their rankings in Mergermarket confirm what we already know — that the number and type of transactions they routinely handle rival those of large, global firms. We congratulate each of them on this significant achievement,” states the firm’s managing partner, Jonathan E. Eady.
“We are excited to be listed among this elite group of attorneys and law firms. This shows how successful our clients have been at finding and negotiating excellent acquisition and divestiture opportunities. I have enormous respect and appreciation for the team at AGG that made closing so many deals possible,” says Jeff Friedman. Jeff, a Corporate partner and co-chair of the Healthcare Private Equity industry team, advises private equity sponsors worldwide on market-leading transactions – including cross-border mergers, buyouts, carve-outs, and divestitures. He is particularly skilled at forming, advising, and working with private equity-backed platforms on roll-up strategies to acquire and integrate large numbers of businesses within a particular industry.
Matt, a Corporate Healthcare partner and co-chair of the Healthcare Private Equity industry team, has advised on hundreds of transactions involving private equity firms, health systems, hospitals and a wide variety of other providers. “Inclusion in this list demonstrates our commitment to closing transactions for our clients. We work tirelessly for our clients because they place their trust in us as their counsel, advisor, and partner,” adds Matt.
With the largest network of dedicated M&A journalists and analysts, Mergermarket offers the most comprehensive M&A intelligence service available today.
