Kevin Bell, co-chair of AGG’s Intellectual Property and Dietary Supplements, will speak at the New York State Bar Association Annual Meeting: Food, Drug, & Cosmetic Law Section Program on January 28, 2022, from 2-2:50 p.m. EST.

Kevin will present “FDA, New Dietary Ingredients, and Intellectual Property: Recent Developments in a Difficult Area” alongside Mark LeDoux of Natural Alternatives International, Inc.

Recent actions by FDA suggest intellectual property rights will continue to be a difficult area for the dietary supplements industry, particularly when it involves protections for new dietary ingredients. The panel, moderated by Marc Ullman of Rivkin Radler LLP, will discuss efforts by industry stakeholders to move the needle at FDA, the US Patent and Trademark Office, and on Capitol Hill.

The full program will be held virtually from 12-5 p.m. and feature insightful discussions on FDA and patents, legal considerations for using CBD in developing and marketing cosmetics, the current state of the biologic market, and more.
