Felix Swierski Presented Pro Bono Partnership of Atlanta Webinar on Starting a Nonprofit

On December 8, 2022, AGG Corporate & Finance associate Felix Swierski presented the webinar, “A New Nonprofit? Should You Create One and the ‘Determination’ Needed for 501(c)(3) Status,” which was hosted by Pro Bono Partnership of Atlanta.

During the webinar, Felix and his co-speaker — Cara Mitchell, associate general counsel for Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta — reviewed the following:

• Options for how a nonprofit visionary can address their mission, while avoiding the complexities of creating and sustaining a 501(c)(3) organization; and
• Practical considerations and legal requirements to create a new 501(c)(3) tax-exempt entity.

Pro Bono Partnership of Atlanta assists 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit organizations that serve low-income or disadvantaged individuals and are unable to pay for legal services. Its clients work to improve the lives of the homeless, domestic violence survivors, at-risk youth, senior citizens, individuals with disabilities, and other groups in need.
