Alan Horowitz to Present at AMDA PALTC24

AGG Healthcare of counsel Alan C. Horowitz will participate in two sessions at the Society for Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine (“AMDA”) PALTC24 in San Antonio, Texas.

On March 9, 2024, Alan will co-present “Anatomy of an Appeal of a CMS Enforcement Action.” When a skilled nursing facility appeals a CMS enforcement action, typically the DON, administrator, medical director and/or attending physician, as well as PAs and NPs, may be called to testify as a witness for the facility. As such, this presentation will focus on, among other aspects of an appeal, witness preparation (e.g., preparing for a cross-examination and questions by the ALJ).

On March 10, 2024, Alan will co-present “An Overview of the Current Landscape of Cannabis Use in PALTC.” This presentation will explore the evidence available for cannabis use and the risks associated with use, followed by a question and answer session.

The full conference will be held from March 9-11, 2024, at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center.
