Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion
Our Mission
“Providing legal services of the highest quality requires the greatest possible breadth of background, perspective, orientation, and experience. Building on the progressive and pioneering values that led to our founding, AGG is committed to promoting a culture of diversity and inclusion that embraces the differences and similarities among all people.”
We seek to fulfill our diversity mission by:
- Listening and responding to our clients’ needs for diverse perspectives and talents;
- Fostering a working environment of fairness and mutual respect;
- Attracting, retaining, and developing talent that is representative of the growing diversity of our clients, their businesses, and our communities;
- Being a leader in community initiatives, which recognize the importance of diversity and inclusion; and
- Driving change in the legal profession.
AGG is a charter founding member of the Atlanta Large Law Firm Diversity Alliance, a group of 11 law firms, which, working in partnership with the American Institute for Managing Diversity, developed a curriculum to train law firm leadership on how to manage and improve diversity in their firms. AGG is also an active member of the State Bar of Georgia’s Diversity Program and our attorneys serve in leadership roles.
Programs
Women’s Initiative
Our Women’s Initiative promotes internal networking and teambuilding among the firm’s women attorneys and summer associates, clients, and the community. The firm supports and seeks to develop female leadership within the firm and to align itself with the firm’s female clients by understanding and supporting their unique needs as professional women.
Attorney Maternity & Paternity Paid Leave Policy
To help facilitate a smooth transition for attorneys with new family members, we offer a maternity and paternity paid leave policy to enable new parents to spend time with their newborn, newly adopted, or recently placed foster children. We recognize the physical, emotional, and psychological demands of both childbirth and adoption and believe a period of leave can be important for the well-being of both the parent and the child.
Childcare Subsidy
As part of our efforts to support the unique family needs of our employees, AGG offers subsidized childcare services for our attorneys and staff members residing in our Atlanta office. We provide 50% of the monthly tuition cost at two conveniently located local daycares.
