Biography
Katharine is an attorney in the Bankruptcy, Creditors’ Rights, & Financial Restructuring practice, representing companies and financial institutions in commercial bankruptcy and creditors’ rights matters. She handles disputes ranging from smaller commercial matters to multimillion-dollar complex litigation in bankruptcy court, including defending clients against preference, fraudulent transfer, and other avoidance claims.
Katharine helps clients navigate disputes from the earliest stages through resolution, including pre-suit strategy, discovery, motion practice, negotiations, settlement, and trial support. Her practice encompasses bankruptcy litigation, commercial financing matters, contract disputes, and landlord-tenant matters. This breadth of experience allows her to approach creditors’ rights and commercial disputes with an understanding of both the immediate litigation issues and the broader business considerations facing her clients.
Before entering private practice, Katharine served as an assistant state attorney, where she managed a high-volume caseload and handled matters from intake through resolution. She conducted depositions, voir dire, jury and bench trials, and motion practice, developing substantial hands-on courtroom experience early in her career. She also previously served as a judicial intern for judges on the Florida Second District Court of Appeal and the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida, providing additional perspective on litigation and judicial decision-making.
Katharine brings a practical, collaborative approach to resolving disputes and focuses on helping clients reach effective, results-oriented solutions. Her commitment to the legal profession includes service on The Florida Bar Young Lawyers Division Board of Governors and prior leadership as president of the St. Petersburg Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division. In 2024, the St. Petersburg Bar Association recognized her with its Rising Star Award.
