Matt Lavin Quoted in Law360 Article Titled “United Sanctioned for Late Evidence in Surprise Billing Suit”

On September 21, 2022, AGG Healthcare Litigation partner Matt Lavin was quoted in a Law360 article titled “United Sanctioned for Late Evidence in Surprise Billing Suit,” discussing LD et al. v. United Behavioral Health et al., in which Chief U.S. Magistrate Judge Joseph C. Spero granted AGG’s Rule 37 sanctions prohibiting United Behavioral Health from using thousands of documents and pieces of evidence produced after the discovery cutoff.

Matt, along with AGG Healthcare Litigation attorneys Aaron Modiano, Natalie Cascario, Tom Kelly, and Nicole Wemhoff, represent the proposed class.

Matt told Law360 that Judge Spero’s ruling will allow AGG to focus efforts on certification of a national class of individuals harmed by the insurer and on trying the case on its merits.
