On February 18, Neil W. Hoffman and Ryan Kerr presented a webinar titled “Involuntary Treatment of Behavioral Health Patients” to current and past recipients of the Rural Hospital Stabilization Grant. The webinar provided an overview of Georgia’s involuntary mental healthcare pathway, common misconceptions concerning Georgia’s behavioral health laws, and healthcare providers’ obligations under EMTALA. It was presented in partnership with Georgia’s State Office of Rural Health and Draffin Tucker.
