Alan Horowitz to Present at AHLA Long Term and Post-Acute Care Law and Compliance 2024 Conference

On February 26 and 27, 2024, AGG Healthcare of counsel Alan C. Horowitz will present at the 2024 American Health Law Association Long-Term and Post-Acute Care Law and Compliance Conference in San Diego, California.

Alan will offer a presentation discussing “Respecting Patient Autonomy: Legal and Medical Aspects of End-of-Life Care.” This presentation will cover the legal, ethical, and medical implications of medical aid in dying, “wrongful life” lawsuits, and “dementia directives” that request cessation of hand feeding, federal and state requirements that respect patient autonomy in end-of-life decisions, and the trend of increasing lawsuits and regulatory actions against hospice providers.

The full conference will be held in person at the Hyatt Regency Mission Bay Spa and Marina from February 26-28, 2024. The sessions, which are geared toward nursing facility, assisted living, and home health audiences, will focus on cutting-edge issues at the front and center of the post-acute continuum.
