Sexuality and Dementia in Long-Term Care: Balancing Resident Rights and Resident Safety

Partner Alan Horowitz presented at the Colorado Medical Directors Association (CMDA) on “Sexuality and Dementia in Long-Term Care: Balancing Resident Rights and Resident Safety” on August 7, 2018.  The presentation focused on the legal challenges of respecting the federally protected rights of cognitively impaired residents while promoting their safety and preventing exploitation.  Mr. Horowitz also reviewed the applicable federal regulations, relevant cases, and discussed proven strategies to mitigate risks.  For more information, please contact Mr. Horowitz.
