Jeff Jacobovitz Moderating ABA Webinar on Baseball Antitrust Exemption

Jeff Jacobovitz, AGG trial attorney and chair of the firm’s Antitrust group, will moderate a panel discussing the Major League Baseball antitrust exemption during a webinar hosted by the American Bar Association on October 14, 2022, from 12-1:30 p.m.

The Major League Baseball antitrust exemption, in existence since 1922, has once again come under scrutiny by courts and Capitol Hill. One of the issues is whether the exemption should be narrowed if it remains. The Supreme Court upheld the exemption in 1972 in a case brought by Curt Flood, but held that “professional baseball is a business and it is engaged in interstate commerce.”
