Bob Durkin Speaking at Food and Drug Law Institute Virtual Event on Cannabis Regulation

AGG attorney and member of the firm’s Dietary Supplements industry team, Bob Durkin, will speak at the Food and Drug Law Institute’s virtual event titled “Legal and Practical Issues in the Evolving World of Cannabis Regulation” on December 3, 2021, from 12:20-1:20 p.m. EST. He joins the panel, “FDA’s Search for Data to Inform Cannabidiol Regulation as a Food and Dietary Ingredient.”

Although CBD is widely available online and in brick-and-mortar stores, FDA has not authorized any CBD-containing substances for non-prescription drug use, citing the need for data to better inform regulations of the CBD marketplace. The panel will cover where FDA is in its search for more data, if that data is sufficient or if federal legislation will be required, the potential state role in regulating hemp-derived products, and how the CBD industry can navigate the current landscape.

The full program will be held from December 2-3, 2021, and will examine the reality of the cannabis industry from both a legal and practical perspective and guide attendees on navigating the constantly changing legal environment.
