Carter Cornick is the Director of Government Relations and Communications for Arnall Golden Gregory LLP, responsible for bringing comprehensive federal and state government relations and communications services to multiple clients. Carter has over 25 years of consulting and federal government service, including over 8 years in the US Senate, 9 years in the US House of Representatives, and almost 5 years at the US Department of Housing and Urban Development. He has held senior leadership roles including Chief of Staff (US Senator John Warner – VA), General Deputy Assistant Secretary for Congressional and Intergovernmental Relations, Senior Vice President, Director of Communications and Legislative Director.

In sum, Mr. Cornick has served 2 US Senators, 2 HUD Secretaries and multiple Members of the House of Representatives. He has led policy and strategy initiatives and has put that experience and knowledge to work building effective communications and government relations strategies and plans for companies and organizations – large and small.

Carter is working closely with all of AGG’s practice groups, and brings substantive Congressional and Executive branch experience to the Healthcare, Privacy, Corporate, Litigation and Transportation/ Infrastructure Practices. He has unique experience in crisis response – in particular to natural disaster and white collar crime. Starting in late August 2005 and through much of 2006, Carter had the opportunity to work with multiple federal, state and local officials to help guide and inform Congressional conference committees writing public law to address federal natural disaster assistance and recovery laws in the aftermath of hurricanes Katrina, Rita and Wilma.
