Ms. Kelly is a partner in the firm’s Employment Practice and its Litigation Practice. She also serves as the firm’s General Counsel. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Kelly served as a judicial clerk to the Honorable Jacques L. Wiener, Jr. of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
Ms. Kelly focuses her practice on counseling and training employers and representing them, through trial, in the full range of employment litigation, including claims involving discrimination and harassment, employee leave laws, wage and hour issues, executive employment contracts, and benefits disputes. In addition, she frequently represents clients in negotiating executive compensation packages, and also advises on matters relating to unfair competition and restrictive covenants, such as noncompetition, nonsolicitation, nondisclosure, and trade secrets agreements. She has particular expertise assisting employers in the logistics, long-term care and other healthcare, background screening, energy, financial services, and retail/hospitality industries, as well as representing foreign-based companies that are establishing operations in the United States.
Ms. Kelly also represents clients in complex business litigation. She has extensive experience before administrative agencies and state and federal courts at the trial and appellate levels, as well as in arbitration, mediation, and other forms of alternative dispute resolution.
Ms. Kelly has made numerous presentations to employer clients and industry groups on employment law and human resources topics. She has been recognized for her work in the area of employment law by publications such as Georgia Super Lawyers and Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business, which noted that Ms. Kelly “can analyze complex matters quickly, offering clear advice and support in navigating the maze of legal concerns."
