Andrew J. Schutt is a partner in the Corporate and Securities Practice and a member of the Economic Development and International Business Practices.
Mr. Schutt focuses his practice on advising U.S. and foreign businesses, developers, development authorities and state and local governments in connection with the location and development of new facilities and with the expansion of existing facilities, including the negotiation of incentives for facility location and expansion. Mr. Schutt also counsels foreign companies in various corporate transactions, including the establishment of U.S. operations, equity and debt financing, and mergers and acquisitions. In addition, he assists U.S. companies in transactions with foreign companies and has represented companies based in Korea, Japan, Germany, India and China.
Mr. Schutt also advises and counsels theatrical, movie and television production companies, and professional athletes, music, book and film artists. In the entertainment arena, he has drafted and negotiated numerous agreements involved in theatrical, movie and television production, including project financing, entertainment tax credits, production agreements, artist agreements, option and acquisition agreements, and various joint venture agreements. In the music industry, he has negotiated numerous agreements on behalf of artists, managers and producers, including recording and other agreements with major record labels. He also regularly counsels professional athletes and entertainers with asset acquisition and sale, and regarding investments and asset protection matters.
Mr. Schutt, a former professional radio air personality, is happily married to his wife Wendi. They live in metro Atlanta and have six children and two dogs.
