Stephen “Steve” Pocalyko is of counsel in the International Business Practice and the Immigration and Naturalization Practice. Mr. Pocalyko practices in the area of immigration law with a focus on employment-based immigration and immigration compliance.

Mr. Pocalyko focuses his practice on providing proactive, strategic counseling to corporate clientele and foreign nationals with regard to all aspects of employment-based U.S. immigration law. Mr. Pocalyko structures temporary and permanent international transfers of personnel, including professionals, managers and executives, treaty investors/traders, essential workers, persons of extraordinary ability, corporate trainees, and students. Mr. Pocalyko prepares and files labor certification applications (under the PERM regulations), immigrant petitions (EB-1 through EB-5), nonimmigrant petitions (e.g., E, H, L, O, P, TN), and visa applications. Mr. Pocalyko provides legal guidance to corporate clients on navigating the complex labor certification recruitment process. Mr. Pocalyko assertively represents the interests of client companies and foreign employees before the U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services (USCIS), the U.S. Department of Labor (USDOL), and U.S. embassies and consulates abroad.
 
With significant experience in employment counseling and litigation, Mr. Pocalyko advises employers in the increasingly critical (and often overlooked) area of immigration compliance. Mr. Pocalyko prepares comprehensive immigration compliance policies and implementing procedures for corporate clients. Mr. Pocalyko conducts in-depth immigration compliance audits, including Form I-9 audits, to ensure corporate compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws. Mr. Pocalyko works with clientele to minimize their exposure to potential immigration-related liability and worksite enforcement actions. Mr. Pocalyko conducts training sessions for corporate management and employees on assorted topics pertaining to immigration compliance.
