Rebecca is counsel in the Litigation and International Business Practice Groups.

She focuses her practice on business and commercial litigation matters with an emphasis in insurance coverage. She has experience in a variety of contract disputes – including those involving clinical trials, software implementation, commercial real estate, employment restrictive covenants, and insurance disputes – as well as director and officer liability cases. Rebecca also practices in the area of international dispute resolution, including international arbitration, and is actively involved in the Atlanta International Arbitration Society.

As a business litigator, Rebecca’s experience includes work at the trial and appellate level, both in briefing and oral argument. She has successfully argued multiple motions for dismissal and for summary judgment, as well as multiple appellate arguments in the Georgia Court of Appeals. She has also served as second chair for a two-week jury trial, two full evidentiary hearings on motions for preliminary injunction, and two merits hearings in arbitration.

While in law school, Rebecca was a judicial intern with The Honorable Richard W. Story, United States District Court, Northern District of Georgia. She also studied internationally with the Summer Academy in International Commercial Arbitration and traveled to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil to compete in the Inter-American Sustainable Development Law Moot Court Competition, where her team was a semi-finalist.


  • Submitted an amicus curiae brief to United States Supreme Court advocating for non-signatory arbitration under the New York Convention if permitted under domestic law, which position the Supreme Court unanimously adopted in the issued opinion.

  • Prevailed in the first phase of a two-week jury trial in the Southern District of New York on a claim for failure to use reasonable efforts to sell licensed products, which led to a favorable settlement before concluding the second phase of the trial.

  • Submitted an amicus curiae brief to the Eleventh Circuit advocating for limiting grounds to challenge non-domestic awards to those provided under the New York Convention, which position the Eleventh Circuit adopted in the issued opinion.

  • Defeated Motion for Preliminary Injunction after accelerated discovery and full evidentiary hearing filed by publicly traded company against several entities related to closure of dozens of retail stores.

  • On appeal, had a trial court’s complete dismissal of a lawsuit attempting to properly allocate a $1.5 million charitable gift reversed and remanded.

  • Obtained several judgments for lenders in suits to enforce promissory notes and guarantees involving several million dollars of debts secured by commercial and residential property.

  • Negotiated favorable consent award in arbitration administered through JAMS International for business dispute between U.S. and Ecuadorian logistics companies.

  • Obtained summary judgment and successfully defended judgment on appeal in favor of commercial landlord in lease dispute over enforceability of a radius restriction.

  • Argued and secured a nearly $1 million judgment in a case involving multiple breaches of notes and guaranties by several entities.

  • Obtained favorable award in arbitration administered through American Arbitration Association after full evidentiary hearing in Colorado arising out of a clinical trial dispute.

  • Obtained favorable award, including an award of fees, in arbitration administered through American Arbitration Association after full evidentiary hearing in New Jersey arising out of tax consulting agreement.
