Biography

Neil is a partner in the Bankruptcy, Creditors’ Rights & Financial Restructuring practice. He is a nationally recognized leader in bankruptcy law. He carefully guides clients through the complex process of bankruptcy, creditors’ rights, debt restructuring, distressed assets and fraud. For more than 40 years, secured and unsecured creditors, creditors’ committees, trustees, receivers, and debtors-in-possession have relied on his legal counsel. He also serves as the bankruptcy trustee in Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 cases and as an SEC receiver. Neil is a prolific author and speaker, having conducted over 175 seminar presentations nationally and published over 70 scholarly articles on Bankruptcy Law topics over the course of his career. He is Past President of the National Association of Bankruptcy Trustees, a lifetime member of the American Bankruptcy Institute and previously served as co-chair of the ABI’s Legislation Committee, a Master of the Bench, Georgia Bankruptcy American Inn of Court, and a fellow of the American College of Bankruptcy. Neil is highly-regarded for his keen knowledge by bankruptcy judges, lawyers and trustees around the country.
