U.S. Immigration Law: Employer Compliance

AGG attorneys Teri A. Simmons and Stephen P. Pocalyko authored an article titled, “U.S. Immigration Law: Employer Compliance,” which was published in the May 2010 edition of Law Firm Partnership & Benefits Report. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) began issuing Notices of Inspection in March 2010 to businesses in several southeastern states. Ms. Simmons and Mr. Pocalyko describe the key components of federal law related to employer duties regarding immigration compliance, including Form I-9 compliance, the E-Verify System, the Federal Contractor Rule, state and local immigration compliance laws, and civil and criminal liability.
