Assessing Privilege Waiver When Clients Make Disclosures to the Press

AGG Partner Henry R. Chalmers published an article titled “Assessing Privilege Waiver When Clients Make Disclosures to the Press” on the American Bar Association Litigation News website. The article describes Sullivan v. Warminster Township in which a federal district judge ruled that a party does not necessarily waive attorney-client privilege or work-product protection by disclosing the results of its attorney’s investigations to the press. Mr. Chalmers says that “in the course of reaching its decision, the court provides a helpful primer on the law of privileges and protections.”
