Georgia Tax Credits for Nursing Home Job Creation

Recently, the Georgia Assembly passed, and the Governor signed, HB 439. Beginning with the 2009 tax year, HB 439 provides a significant Georgia tax incentive for any business that is engaged in services for elderly and disabled persons (“SEDP”), such as nursing homes, or maintains its headquarters in Georgia. This tax credit was accomplished by adding SEDP providers to the definition of a “Business Enterprise,” which is a crucial part of Georgia’s Jobs Tax Credit incentives program.
