White County High School P.R.I.D.E v. White County School District

The ACLU of Georgia will award Arnall Golden Gregory LLP the Georgia Civil Liberties Pro Bono Award at its Annual Bill of Rights Dinner on May 12, 2007 at the Westin Plaza Hotel downtown. The award is based on the pro bono work of Frank White and Scott Titshaw on White County High School P.R.I.D.E v. White County School District, et. al. Frank and Scott co-counseled on this case with attorneys from both the Georgia ACLU and the ACLU’s national LGBT Rights Project. After a one-day trial, U.S. District Court Judge William C. O’Kelley granted P.R.I.D.E.’s Motion enjoining the school district from denying the student group equal access to school premises or otherwise discriminating against them on the basis of the content of their speech. Later the case was settled to the satisfaction of all parties involved.
