National Law Journal interviews Matthew Wilson

The National Law Journal reporter Amanda Bronstad interviewed AGG Associate Matthew V. Wilson for an article titled “Bands get all aboard to manage their own joint tour” (registration may be required to view). In the article, Mr. Wilson discusses how he structured a deal between three bands to form a joint venture to manage their Railroad Revival Tour and control revenues and related intellectual property, including a documentary DVD. The Railroad Revival Tour was a tour that took place in April in which three bands—Mumford & Sons, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros and Old Crow Medicine Show—boarded a vintage train through the American Southwest, performing concerts in five cities along the way beginning in Oakland, California, and ending in New Orleans. Mr. Wilson explained the bands’ reasoning behind forming a joint venture and how this approach differs from how most band tours are structured.
