AGG Managing Partner Glenn P. Hendrix was quoted in an article on ABAnow.org, the website of the American Bar Association’s (ABA’s) Division for Media Relations & Communications Services. Entitled, “ABA International Mobilizes Global Legal Issues through Meeting with U.N. Representatives,” the article discusses the annual ABA Day at the United Nations, a 15-year tradition during which ABA members discuss with U.N. officials how to help mobilize initiatives through reports, projects and policy endorsements of U.N. treaties. The ABA also uses ABA Day to pass along recommendations to the U.N. regarding reformation of various international legal policies and procedures. As Chair of the International Law Section of the ABA, Mr. Hendrix gave a presentation at the event. He says that the discussions and recommendations from ABA Day are beneficial in giving the section advanced insight on U.N. initiatives, allowing the ABA to take more effective actions and deliverables to mobilize key international legal issues. This year, part of the discussion focused on garnering greater support for adoption of an ABA policy recommendation urging the United States to ratify the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty.
