Board to Help Guide New Curriculum in Pharmacy College
ATLANTA, June 30, 2004 – Arnall Golden Gregory Attorney Alan Minsk has been appointed to the University of Georgia College of Pharmacy Regulatory Affairs Advisory Board.
“I am honored to have been chosen to serve on this board,” said Minsk, a partner and chair of the Food and Drug Practice Team and frequent speaker on matters involving the Food and Drug Administration. “This program is important because it shows that UGA recognizes the importance of providing educational programs for regulatory and quality control personnel – something that will help grow the industry here and hopefully attract more jobs to the state.”
The UGA College of Pharmacy Regulatory Affairs Advisory Board is charged with advising the college on its new curriculum in regulatory affairs. Board members include a number of influential members of the regulatory, pharmaceutical and health-care communities, including David Dodd, chief executive officer of Serologicals; Robert McNally, co-founder and president of Cell Dynamics; Patricia Fritz, vice president of regulatory affairs of UCB Pharma; and Gary Dykstra, Southeast regional director of the FDA.
Mr. Minsk advises and counsels medical device, food, and pharmaceutical companies daily on a wide variety of legal issues involving regulation by the FDA. Minsk has spoken and written on a wide variety of FDA issues, including FDA enforcement authority and actions, FDA inspections, regulation of dietary supplements, medical device and pharmaceutical product promotion and advertising, product liability, human tissue regulation and financial disclosure by clinical investigators.
