Arnall Golden Gregory Privacy Attorney Robert Belair Receives Prestigious Chambers and Partners Recognition

WASHINGTON – Leading legal rankings service Chambers and Partners has recognized Robert R. Belair as one of the premier privacy attorneys in the United States.

Mr. Belair leads Arnall Golden Gregory’s Privacy and Consumer Regulatory Practice, co-chairs the Government and Regulatory Practice and is managing partner of the firm’s Washington, D.C., office.

Arnall Golden Gregory’s 11 Privacy and Consumer Regulatory attorneys advise companies, associations and government entities on managing consumer information, safeguarding consumer privacy and responding to data breaches.

The Washington office opened in January 2011, and since then Mr. Belair has been instrumental in guiding its growth to encompass a broad range of services, including regulatory counsel for healthcare and other industries, government investigations and white collar defense, government contracts, background screening, and social media.

In all, 16 Arnall Golden Gregory attorneys and eight practices are included in the 2016 Chambers USA Guide.
Mr. Belair is listed as a “leader in his field” in Chambers’ nationwide Privacy & Data Security category.

Mr. Belair said Arnall Golden Gregory’s focus on industry expertise is what distinguishes the firm. “The success of the D.C. office springs from AGG’s culture – know your client, know your client’s industry, know the laws that regulate your client, and do whatever can be done appropriately to help your client achieve its goals.”

Before joining Arnall Golden Gregory, Mr. Belair served as Deputy Counsel to the White House Privacy Committee in the Ford Administration and as a lawyer in the Federal Trade Commission’s Bureau of Consumer Protection doing Fair Credit Reporting Act and other privacy-related work.

On the Hill, Mr. Belair served on the Judiciary Committee Advisory Committee for Chairman Joe Biden and as an advisor to Senator Bob Bennett’s Health Privacy Task Force.
