American Lawyer Magazine Ranks AGG Summer Associates Program No. 1 in Atlanta, No. 16 Nationally

ATLANTA, Oct. 27, 2004 – American Lawyer magazine, in its annual Summer Associates Survey released yesterday, ranks the Arnall Golden Gregory LLP program No. 1 in Atlanta and No. 16 nationally.

This year’s honor marks the sixth time in the last eight years that AGG has earned the No. 1 ranking among Atlanta law firms in the American Lawyer survey.

“The strength of the summer program comes from the support of attorneys and staff throughout the firm,” said Nan King, AGG’s hiring partner and head of its intern program. “Our goal is to select the brightest, most promising students, then give them a mutually beneficial experience that mirrors what real life is like at a top law firm.”

The rankings are available at www.americanlawyerse.com.

The 2004 survey drew responses from 4,913 summer associates at 182 firms. Interns were asked to rate their experience on nine areas, including the interest level of the work and how much of it was “real,” the training and guidance they received, interactions with partners and full-time associates, how well the firm communicated its goals, how accurately it portrayed itself in interviews, how it rated as a place to work, and how likely the interns were to accept a job if one were offered.

The surveys, distributed through the firms’ recruiting coordinators, were administered from late June to early August to second- and third-year law students clerking at firms for at least three weeks. Respondents were guaranteed anonymity.

AGG’s 2004 summer associates included Brian D. Boone (Emory University School of Law), Victoria M. Calvert (New York University School of Law), Sarah E. Hale (University of Georgia School of Law), Kyle G. Healy (University of Michigan Law School), Laurie K. Kirkwood (Emory University School of Law), Ajay Koduri (Vanderbilt University Law School), William R. Miller, Jr. (Duke University School of Law), Erin L. Penn (Georgia State University Law School), Brian P. Ward (Duke University School of Law) and C. Knox Withers (University of Georgia School of Law).
