ATLANTA, Jan. 20, 2005 – Atlanta law firm Arnall Golden Gregory LLP has named five new partners. AGG also announced the addition or promotion of several senior attorneys and 15 new associates.
New partners (effective Jan. 1, 2005):
David B. Lotz is a partner on the firm’s Affordable Housing Practice Team. Lotz’s practice includes real-estate development transactions and general corporate and business transactions utilizing complex finance, equity and debt structures. His experience includes all aspects of commercial and residential real-estate development and finance transactions, complex, large-scale corporate merger and acquisition transactions and venture-capital investment financing. Lotz’s current focus is on multifamily and single-family residential real-estate development utilizing a variety of federal programs and debt sources. Lotz is an active member of the Georgia Affordable Housing Coalition and the ABA Forum on Affordable Housing.
Heather Smith Michael is a partner in the firm’s Litigation and Complex Insurance Services practice groups. Michael represents clients in sophisticated commercial litigation in state and federal courts throughout the country. She specializes in representing insurance companies in complex bad-faith actions and coverage disputes. Michael also specializes in litigation concerning securities and corporate-governance issues.
Andrew J. Schutt is a partner in the firm’s Growth Companies/Private Equities practice. Schutt primarily represents growing private and public companies in mergers and acquisitions, financing and general corporate matters, with a focus on businesses in the life science and technology fields. He also practices public-finance law, with experience representing companies, issuers, trustees, lenders and investors in bond financings.
Scott M. Shuman is a partner on the firm’s Commercial Real Estate/Leasing practice team. Shuman concentrates on commercial real estate, with particular emphasis in the negotiation of leases for landlords and tenants involving retail, office and industrial projects. He also represents developers and retailers in acquiring, developing and disposing of commercial real estate.
Rebecca Carter Stone is a partner on the firm’s Mergers & Acquisitions, Telecommunications, Promotion Marketing and Nanotechnology practice teams. Stone advises clients on mergers and acquisitions, promotion marketing, online marketing, and telemarketing matters, Internet and technology matters, consumer privacy matters, general corporate matters, wireless and wireline telecommunications matters and nanotechnology matters. She is a frequent speaker on promotion marketing and electronic commerce topics.
